
The privately owned golf course is situated 1 mile down stream of Hay-on-Wye (Town of books) in the county of Herefordshire. The course offers panoramic views over the Wye Valley, Black Mountains and the Welsh Borders.
The extensive nine-hole, 5675 yards, par 70 course was built in 1994, under the guidance and design of Bob Sandow; a renowned Golf Course designer. With the recent addition of nine new tees, it has now become an exciting nine hole, eighteen tee course. The course is of a parkland type thus easy walking. In addition there is an excellent three hole, par 3, course of 270 yards, ideal for a warm up and practice of your short game.
The Clubhouse has beautiful views over the golf course and of approaching golfers on the 9th fairway and green. The facilities include spacious changing rooms, club room and bar and a separate function room with a bar for larger parties. Summerhill is the ideal venue for casual green fees, societies and company golf days, with a wide range of tailored golf packages representing excellent value for money.
Other local attractions are The Wye Valley Walk which passes through Summerhill on its way from Chepstow to Hay-on-Wye. The Offas Dyke Path from Radnorshire into the Black Mountains of Herefordshire. Canoeing from Glasbury-on-wye down steam towards Hereford is very poplar.
