
This historically interesting Grade Two listed building, once owned by Guy’s Hospital, hosts an eclectic collection of antiques and art and has a unique and relaxed ambience.
Owners Bill and Christine Reeve-Tucker define the atmosphere of the Hotel, charming, professional and full of character.
A fine Regency staircase spirals up to a galleried and porticoed landing with all but one of the bedrooms on the first floor – new for 2010 is a ground floor bedroom with access to a pretty secluded garden, ideal for those who find climbing stairs awkward. All the rooms are comfortably furnished and of a good size, with ensuite facilities, colour TV, tea and coffee, radio, telephone and free Wi-Fi access. Rooms at the front boast views over the garden and beyond to the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean whilst rooms at the back of the house overlook cherry, plum and apple orchards.
There’s croquet on the lawn under the shade of an ancient Cedar of Lebanon, reputed to be the oldest in the West of England.
The Drawing Room Bar is furnished with comfy sofas set around an open log fire. The Georgian Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner everyday.
Fabulous food and an AA rossette, with plenty of accolades and awards for creative cuisine using the best of local produce; Herefordshire beef, Welsh lamb and an outstanding ‘Flavours of Herefordshire’ breakfast.
